RFP #25155027 Broadband Implementation

The City of New Bedford Purchasing Department, in conjunction with the Information Technology Department, is soliciting proposals for private provider(s) to design, build, operate, and provide services over a fiber broadband internet network. The goal is to ensure that all premises in New Bedford are served by competitive, symmetrical high-speed data services. The procurement is for the implementation of a broadband network infrastructure project, with key deliverables including the design, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance of the fiber-based network. Qualified providers must demonstrate the ability to meet the city's requirements for network performance, coverage, and service levels. Proposals are due by October 24, 2024, and the city may hold a site visit or bidders' meeting prior to the submission deadline.

This opportunity is open to all qualified providers, and there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The city has not identified any incumbent vendors or current contractors for this project, and there are no specific integration requirements for existing infrastructure or technology. While the city has not disclosed a specific award value or budget range, providers should be prepared to submit detailed cost proposals for the design, construction, and operation of the broadband network.
