About this opportunity
Chatham County Board of Commissioners is soliciting proposals through RFP 25-0012-5 for On Call Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Design Services for the County Department of Engineering and affiliated entities. The procurement seeks qualified companies to provide comprehensive MEP design services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design for various county facilities. Proposing firms must be Professional Engineers licensed in Georgia, with additional preferred credentials including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), NFPA Certified Fire Protection Systems Professional, and LEED Accredited Professional. The proposal must be submitted online through the county's procurement portal by 5:00 P.M. on February 20, 2025, with no pre-proposal conference scheduled. Evaluation criteria will assess firm stability and local resources (10 points), experience and qualifications (40 points), ability to provide services (35 points), and MBE/WBE participation (15 points).
The county intends to award multiple contracts through this RFP, with each successful consulting firm receiving a contract not to exceed $250,000 per year. The initial contract term is one year, with options to renew for four additional one-year terms. Chatham County actively encourages participation from minority and women-owned businesses (MBE/WBE) and will consider this factor during proposal evaluation. Consultants will be selected on a rotation basis, taking into account each firm's specific expertise. The solicitation appears to be an open competition without significant restrictive set-aside designations, providing opportunities for a diverse range of qualified engineering and design consulting firms to participate in providing on-call MEP design services for county facilities.
