RFP 24-1734: Cleaning of Exhaust Hood Systems

The University of Mary Washington (UMW), an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals from qualified sources to establish a multi-year contract for the cleaning of exhaust system hoods at various UMW locations. The required services include cleaning hoods, filters, and fans across multiple campus buildings. Interested offerors must submit proposals by April 29, 2024, and an optional pre-proposal conference will be held on April 12, 2024. The resulting contract will have an initial term of one year with five one-year renewal options. The RFP provides detailed pricing information and instructions for submitting proposals, including requirements for small, women-owned, and minority-owned (SWAM) business participation. It also includes cooperative language allowing other public bodies and entities to access the resulting contract.

The RFP does not state any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, but it does indicate that SWAM business participation is required. The University currently has contracts with five firms for these services, with a total spend of $69,465 from February 2019 through January 2024, but does not guarantee any minimum usage under the new contract. The RFP does not provide an estimated award value or budget range.
