About this opportunity

The Savannah Airport Commission is requesting proposals for tree trimming and emergency tree debris removal services across its 3,681-acre campus near Savannah, Georgia, under RFP 2026-0017, with proposals due July 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EST. The mandatory preproposal meeting and site visit were held June 18, 2026, with an alternative site visit June 19, 2026 — both deadlines have passed as of the current date.

The scope covers bi-annual professional trimming during spring and fall seasons for 162 palm trees (160 Sabal Palm and 2 Washingtonia Palm) distributed throughout the airport, plus 24/7/365 emergency response with a two-hour response time and storm-related debris removal. A licensed arborist must supervise all work. The contractor bears full responsibility for equipment, labor, debris removal and disposal, traffic control, site restoration, utility location, and damage to airport infrastructure or property. No site or disposal locations are provided by the Commission.

The contract term is three years with options for two additional one-year renewal periods at the sole discretion of the Savannah Airport Commission. Proposed pricing shall remain firm for the initial three-year term; any renewal period price adjustments are limited to the percentage change in the Georgia Consumer Price Index, subject to Commission approval and documented justification provided no less than 90 days before contract expiration. Contractors must submit itemized, detailed cost proposals broken out by year, with emergency and after-hours services priced separately.

Evaluation is weighted as follows: Experience & Past Performance (30 points), Technical Approach (25 points), Cost (20 points), References (20 points), and Local/Small/Minority Business status (5 points). Award notification is scheduled for no later than August 28, 2026. All responses must be registered and submitted through the Bonfire Hub portal at https://savannahairport.bonfirehub.com; email or mail submissions are not accepted. Questions regarding vendor registration and bid submission should be directed to Christy Dixon at cdixon@flysav.com.
