About this opportunity
The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS), on behalf of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Child Protective Services Program (CPS), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather information on the availability and capability for operating inpatient psychiatric stabilization beds, psychiatric transition beds, or community beds for up to 90 days for children with complex behavioral health needs in DFPS conservatorship. The RFI seeks details on respondents' implementation approach, operational costs, and ability to accommodate this high-risk population, including any barriers or prerequisites. Respondents are also asked to describe the services they could provide, how they would network with other child-serving agencies, and the engagement they would provide with legal guardians and families. The RFI is focused on the jurisdictions of Travis County and the City of Austin. Responses to the RFI are due by December 19, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Central Time.
The RFI does not directly result in a contract award, but the information received may be used to inform potential future solicitations. The RFI does not mention any set-aside designations, restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, or any listed incumbent vendors or current contractors. The RFI also does not provide any information about existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration, or possible award values or budget ranges.
