About this opportunity
The Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority (MIRA) in Hartford County, Connecticut, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) and Expressions of Interest for the potential sale of its Jet Turbine Facility (JTF) Electric Generating Assets. The JTF comprises eight identical Pratt and Whitney FT4A-9 turbine engines, configured into four power generation twin-packs with a total qualified capacity of 148.493 Megawatts through May 31, 2023. The RFI seeks to accomplish three primary objectives: provide public notice regarding the final operation of the jet turbines, request expressions of interest from parties interested in witnessing the final operation and receiving announcements about upcoming solicitations, and gather information related to future public solicitations for the sale of the JTF assets. The solicitation is open from April 28, 2023, through June 30, 2024, with delivery terms specified as Free On Board Destination. Interested parties are directed to obtain complete RFI documentation from MIRA's website and can contact Roger Guzowski for any questions or additional information.
The RFI does not specify any set-aside designations, restrictions on responding organizations, or incumbent vendor information. No specific evaluation criteria, pricing terms, or funding requirements are detailed in the documentation. The solicitation is open to all vendors and has been designated as having no line items, with payment terms to be specified by responding vendors. There is no estimated total value provided for the potential asset sale. The assets are located at MIRA's facility in Hartford, Connecticut, and the RFI is part of a broader strategy to conduct one or more public solicitations for the sale of the JTF assets after June 1, 2023. Potential respondents are encouraged to review the comprehensive RFI documentation on MIRA's website to fully understand the scope and nature of the potential transaction.
