About this opportunity
Mason Public Schools is soliciting sealed bids for the purchase and installation of furniture and equipment necessary to furnish the James Harvey Education Center Addition & Remodeling project located at 400 South Cedar Street, Mason, Michigan 48854. The procurement includes multiple prime sealed bid categories covering various furniture items across kindergarten classrooms, pre-kindergarten rooms, special education spaces, and administrative offices. Specific deliverables detailed in the architectural furniture plans include multiple chair types (CH1 through CH10B), tables (TA1 through TA9), storage units (ST1 through ST5), office furniture (OF8 through OF8), and classroom accessories distributed across Units A, B, and C. Bidders must submit two complete copies of their bids using the provided bid form to Ronald Drzewicki, Ed.S., Superintendent, at the Mason Public Schools Administration Building, 201 West Ash Street, Suite 2A, Mason, Michigan 48854, with a deadline of 10:00 A.M. local time on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at which time proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud. Electronic bidding documents may be viewed or requested after February 13, 2019 through GMB Architecture + Engineering. Proposals must remain firm for sixty days from the date of bid opening, and the Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and is not obligated to accept the low bid.
All bidders must furnish bid security in the amount of five percent of the total bid in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or money order payable to Mason Public Schools, with personal and company checks not acceptable. For bids exceeding $50,000.00, Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds covering 100 percent of the project value are required and must be presented as a dollar amount separate from the base bid; bidders must demonstrate bondability. All bidders must complete and have notarized the Affidavit of Bidder form and Affidavit of Compliance—Iran Economic Sanctions Act, with failure to complete these forms resulting in bid disqualification. Prevailing wage rates do not apply to this project. No set-aside designations or restrictions on organization types responding to this procurement are specified in the available documentation. The contract opportunity does not identify any incumbent vendors, current contractors, or specific budget ranges for the furniture and equipment procurement.
