About this opportunity

The University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified firms to provide Historical Resource Consulting services for campus planning and capital improvement projects through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The procurement targets firms with expertise in historical resource management, including developing historic context statements, conducting historical resource inventories and surveys, performing historic resource evaluations, and ensuring compliance with Secretary of the Interior Standards and CEQA requirements. Specific deliverables may include historic assessments, masterplan and long-range development plan preparation, and documentation supporting historic resources and ADA compliance. The RFQ is open to interested consulting firms, with submissions required via email to Brenda Medina (blduenas@uci.edu) and David Donovan (ddonovan@uci.edu) by May 28, 2025, at 4:00 PM. The University will evaluate submissions based on qualifications and conduct interviews with short-listed firms to determine the most suitable contractor(s). The anticipated contract duration is three years, with the potential to award the contract to one or more qualified firms.

The procurement emphasizes equal employment opportunity, requiring each candidate firm to demonstrate its commitment to non-discriminatory practices across race, religion, sex, color, ethnicity, and national origin. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the University appears committed to providing equal access to contracting opportunities. The RFQ documents can be obtained by contacting the specified email addresses, and additional contract opportunities can be found on the UCI Design & Construction Services website (www.designandconstruction.uci.edu). Although a specific contract value is not disclosed, the comprehensive scope of services and three-year contract duration suggest a significant potential engagement. The procurement covers jurisdictions including Orange County, Orange City, Orange Cove City, Orange Blossom CDP, and Orangevale CDP, indicating a regional focus for the historical resource consulting services.
