About this opportunity

The Town of Canton, Connecticut is seeking proposals for scrap metal recycling services through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process. Interested vendors must submit one original and two copies of sealed bids by June 1, 2022, at 2:00 PM local time, with bids to be publicly opened immediately thereafter in the second floor Conference Room of Canton Town Hall. The RFP requires vendors to provide comprehensive scrap metal recycling services, though specific quantities and precise contract terms are not detailed in the documentation. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be determined by the vendor. The complete bid package is available on the Town's website (www.townofcantonct.org) under the "Request for Proposals" section. Vendors are expected to demonstrate capability in processing and recycling municipal scrap metals efficiently and effectively.

The Town of Canton has explicitly designated this procurement as an equal opportunity/affirmative action opportunity, with strong encouragement for participation from small business enterprises, woman-owned businesses, and minority-owned businesses. While no specific set-aside percentages or quotas are mentioned, the town demonstrates a clear commitment to inclusive procurement practices. The solicitation does not reference any incumbent contractors or specify existing infrastructure requirements for integration. No estimated total contract value or budget range is provided in the available documentation. The RFP does not outline specific evaluation criteria beyond the general scope of providing scrap metal recycling services. Interested vendors are advised to carefully review the full solicitation package and prepare comprehensive proposals that demonstrate their capability to meet the town's recycling service needs. The procurement appears open to a wide range of qualified vendors capable of handling municipal scrap metal recycling services.
