The state of Vermont, specifically Addison County, is seeking bids for building envelope improvements for the Hancock Town Office & Library located at 1027 VT-100 in Hancock. This procurement involves construction work focused on insulation and air sealing, with specific requirements for obtaining necessary permits and historic clearance prior to project commencement. Potential bidders are required to thoroughly examine town scope documents, conduct site visits, and fully understand existing building conditions. The project has a defined construction completion deadline of May 29, 2026, with bid submissions due by February 10, 2026. Interested contractors must submit questions to Harry Falconer at hfalconer@trorc.org, who will manage a list of bidders and distribute any clarifications or addenda. While no specific set-aside designations or restrictions were explicitly mentioned in the contract opportunity description, potential bidders should anticipate standard compliance requirements typical of municipal construction projects. No incumbent vendors or existing technology integration details were provided in the available documentation. The procurement appears to be an open competitive bid process accessible to qualified contractors capable of executing building envelope improvement work. An energy audit for the facility is available upon request from the project contact, which may provide additional technical insights for potential bidders. Though a precise budget range was not specified, municipal building improvement projects typically range from $50,000 to $250,000, depending on the scope and complexity of required renovations. Interested contractors should carefully review all project documentation and be prepared to demonstrate technical expertise in historic building renovation and energy efficiency improvements.
