About this opportunity

The State of Maine's Division of Purchases is requesting bids on 21 portable radio units with bids due April 20, 2009. The procurement is for six Kenwood TK-272GK1RK units and 15 Kenwood TK-2170K-LKP units — a single-source equipment specification. All units must be new and delivered within 15 business days of order to Augusta, Maine.

Each TK-272 package includes a 5-watt VHF radio (136–174 MHz), KNB-15A 1200 mAh Ni-Cad battery, KSC-24 rapid charger, KRA-14M helical antenna, and KNB-8 belt clip. Each TK-2170 package includes a 5-watt VHF radio (136–174 MHz), KNB-35L 1950 mAh Li-Ion battery, KSC-25 rapid charger, KRA-26 helical antenna, and KNB-12 belt clip.

Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder on the basis of lowest total cost for all 21 radio packages. Bid prices must be inclusive of all transportation charges, trade discounts, quantity discounts, and delivery to Augusta; shipping and handling costs cannot be stated separately. Unit prices govern in cases of discrepancy with total prices. Cash discounts of 20 days or longer are considered in determining the low bidder; shorter discounts are not. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes and bidders must exclude these from pricing.

The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent. Bids must be submitted in sealed form or electronically to the Division of Purchases, 9 State House Station, Augusta, Maine, prior to the April 20 closing time; late submissions will not be accepted. Tie bids are resolved in favor of in-state bidders or those offering equipment produced or manufactured in Maine.
