The project specifically requires replacing existing doors that are 16 gauge thick with corresponding 14 gauge door frames, including comprehensive hardware installation such as Best IC cores for mortise locks, closers, and security hinges. Contractors must completely remove existing doors, install new doors with framing, and apply a primer coat of paint. The solicitation is structured as a Quick Quote procurement with an optional pre-bid site visit scheduled between October 21-25, 2024, during which potential bidders can ask questions and conduct site inspections. Interested vendors must submit a valid driver's license and completed Authority of Release of Information form to Donzell.Goodwyn@vadoc.virginia.gov to schedule a site visit. The formal bid submission deadline is November 1, 2024, with the procurement focusing on specific areas including the mail room, mechanical room, major's office, laundry double doors, and kitchen swing doors.

Vendors must comply with comprehensive Commonwealth of Virginia contracting requirements, including anti-discrimination policies, drug-free workplace standards, and eVA vendor registration. The contract will involve rigorous security protocols, including potential background investigations for contractor employees and compliance with specific institutional security rules. While no specific contract value was explicitly stated, the procurement suggests a moderate-scale infrastructure improvement project within a correctional facility setting.
