About this opportunity

The Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a DSBSD-certified vendor to execute a comprehensive door replacement project at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women located at 2841 River Road in Goochland, VA. The procurement involves removing and replacing existing metal doors and frames, with specific requirements for door gauge thickness (16 gauge for doors, 14 gauge for frames) across multiple facility locations including the mailroom, mechanical room, major's office, laundry, and kitchen. Deliverables include complete door replacement with new door hardware, specifically requiring Best IC cores for mortise locks, closers, and security hinges, with doors to be primed using the vendor's chosen primer color. The solicitation is structured as a Quick Quote procurement with a specific bid due date of October 7, 2024, and an optional pre-bid site visit available to potential contractors. Evaluation criteria will focus on selecting the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with a performance expectation of completing the entire project within 30 calendar days after receiving the order.

This procurement is specifically designated as a set-aside contract exclusively for DSBSD-certified (Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity) vendors, with award conditions stratified by bid total: micro businesses can be awarded for bids $10,000 or less, while small businesses can be awarded for bids up to $100,000. Interested contractors must be registered in the Commonwealth's eVA procurement system and will be subject to vendor transaction fees. Additional requirements include compliance with contractor licensing regulations, adherence to facility security procedures, and mandatory sexual harassment training for all contractor employees. While no incumbent vendor is specified, the contract appears focused on modernizing and maintaining critical infrastructure within the correctional facility. Though specific budget ranges are not explicitly detailed, the procurement suggests a project scope that likely falls within the $10,000 to $100,000 range, depending on the exact specifications and complexity of the door replacements required.
