About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is pursuing a single-source procurement for laboratory equipment maintenance and security services with Redwire, Inc., specifically for the Division of Animal Industry Diagnostic Laboratories in Kissimmee. The procurement encompasses network security equipment, security cameras, access control systems, and related hardware for the Bio Safety Laboratory 3, with a contract term spanning from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. The solicitation, posted on May 19, 2025, invites prospective vendors to provide relevant information demonstrating their capability to supply these commodities or services by June 10, 2025. The primary objective is to maintain the current laboratory building's control systems, camera infrastructure, and access control mechanisms while preserving existing equipment warranties. The single-source justification stems from the potential warranty voiding that would occur if another vendor were to service the equipment, making Redwire, Inc. the preferred vendor for this procurement.
There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions explicitly mentioned for this procurement. The contract appears to be open to vendors who can demonstrate technical capability to provide the specified security and access control services. The estimated contract value ranges from approximately $39,715.88 to a maximum of $65,000.00, indicating some flexibility in the final contract pricing. The current infrastructure includes existing network security equipment, security cameras, and access control systems that require continued maintenance and potential integration. Prospective vendors are expected to have expertise in laboratory security systems, particularly for biosafety environments, and must submit their qualifications and capabilities by the June 10, 2025 deadline. If the Department determines after review that the services are truly available from a single source, they will proceed with posting an intended decision to enter an agreement with Redwire, Inc. on the Vendor Information Portal.
