About this opportunity
Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority (DART) has issued a procurement opportunity for a "REBUILT-WHISTLE ASSY. CHIME" with specification number 2097417, soliciting bids for a specific replacement or rebuilt transit vehicle component. The contract opportunity was posted on January 8, 2026, with responses due by January 15, 2026, and requires mandatory Bonfire registration to access complete bid details. Vendors must submit bids reflecting FOB Destination shipping terms with freight costs included in the overall price, adhering to DART's strict delivery expectations where failure to meet scheduled delivery timelines could result in order rejection and default termination. All bidders must comply with DART's purchase order terms and conditions, which include submitting invoices to APInvoices@dart.org in triplicate with comprehensive itemization including purchase order number, item descriptions, quantities, unit prices, and extended totals. The procurement process mandates that vendors follow specific technical requirements and specifications for the whistle assembly or chime component, with potential inspection and conformance verification protocols in place.
While the solicitation does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements, DART's terms include equal opportunity commitments and certifications regarding non-association with designated foreign terrorist organizations. Payment terms are standardized at Net 30, with invoices processed 30 days from receipt or order completion. The contract appears to be a standard procurement for a specific transit vehicle component, suggesting potential integration with existing DART vehicle infrastructure. Though a precise award value is not specified in the provided documentation, the procurement indicates a targeted, technical purchase for a specific rebuilt automotive component. Vendors must demonstrate technical capability to provide a whistle assembly or chime that meets DART's precise specifications, with the ability to comply with stringent delivery, documentation, and quality assurance requirements.
