About this opportunity
Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) is requesting bids on rebuilt Allison B400R transmissions for its transit fleet under IFB No. 2026-SP-16, with bids due October 8, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. CDT. The contractor must be an Allison Transmission authorized dealer, distributor, or remanufacturing facility — a single-source authorization filter that eliminates non-qualified competitors.
The scope requires rebuilding transmission cores supplied by CCRTA in strict compliance with Allison OEM specifications, procedures, and service bulletins. The contractor must employ manufacturer-trained technicians and perform dynamometer testing on each completed transmission prior to delivery. All work must incorporate current Allison service bulletins, engineering changes, and product improvements applicable to the B400R model. A minimum hard-parts replacement list is specified. All transmissions must use genuine Allison parts with no substitutions without prior written CCRTA approval. Deliveries must occur within three business days of purchase order receipt to CCRTA's Operations Facility at 5658 Bear Lane, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405.
The contract term is two years on a firm-fixed-price basis, effective December 12, 2026. CCRTA does not guarantee any minimum quantity. Pricing must be submitted on a per-unit basis covering all labor, parts, materials, testing, freight, delivery, and related costs. The contractor must maintain commercial general liability ($1 million per occurrence / $2 million annual aggregate), automobile liability ($1 million combined single limit per accident / $2 million annual aggregate), contractual liability, and workers' compensation insurance ($500,000 employer's liability).
The contract includes a three-year unlimited-mileage warranty providing 100 percent coverage for parts and labor, with on-site warranty repairs required within 48 hours of notification. Invoices are due within 30 days of delivery and acceptance; payment terms are net 30 from invoice via ACH transfer. Questions are due September 17, 2026, with CCRTA responses by September 24. Award is tentatively scheduled for November 4, 2026.
