About this opportunity

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a contractor to construct a working bays and cold storage building located in Iberia, Missouri. The project involves building a 103'-8" wide x 60' deep x 16'-4" eave height structure with 2 x 6 exterior perimeter wood stud walls on a concrete foundation. The scope of work includes a 6" concrete floor slab, wood trusses, 26 gauge metal wall and roof panels, comprehensive insulation, plumbing, mechanical, electrical systems, and incidental site work. The solicitation offers a base bid for three rooms and three alternate bids for additional cold storage bays, with alternative construction methods such as pre-engineered metal buildings or tilt-up concrete potentially being considered after contract award. The bid is scheduled to be open from April 24, 2018 to May 22, 2018, with a pre-bid site visit held on May 7, 2018, and the project completion date set for December 14, 2018. MoDOT will award the contract to the lowest and most responsive bidder who meets all mandatory specifications, with evaluation criteria focusing on comprehensive bid compliance, pricing, and project execution capabilities.

The procurement encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) vendors, with specific participation goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE. Bidders are required to submit a 5% bid bond or certified check, and the winning contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. Certified Service-Disabled Veteran (SDV) businesses are also encouraged to participate. The contract is subject to prevailing wage requirements for Miller County and requires compliance with Missouri's Construction Safety Program and E-Verify requirements. Liquidated damages of $700 per day will be assessed for late project completion. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project suggests a substantial infrastructure investment. Vendors must be registered on the MissouriBUYS Statewide eProcurement System to access full solicitation details and submit proposals, with payment terms set at net 30 days and a one-year warranty required on all work performed.
