About this opportunity
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) has issued a notice of intent to award a contract for door magnets through a non-competitive solicitation process. This procurement opportunity is specifically located in St. Johns County, Florida, and follows statutory guidelines under Florida Statutes 287.057(3), 120.57(3), and Rule 60A-1.045. The agency is utilizing a unique procurement approach that allows for direct agency negotiations when fewer than two responsive bids are received. The specific details of the door magnet contract are not fully elaborated in the provided documentation, but the procurement process indicates a structured approach to contract award. Interested parties must submit any protests in writing within 72 hours of the notification of intent to award, with a formal written protest required within ten days. Contact for inquiries is Kim Whitwam, who can be reached by email at whitwamk@fsdbk12.org, located at 207 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, FL 32084. The procurement timeline is relatively compressed, with the intent to award notice posted on October 20, 2025, and responses due by October 23, 2025.
While the documentation does not specify specific set-aside designations or vendor restrictions, the procurement process suggests a flexible approach to vendor selection. The notice explicitly states that this is not a competitive solicitation, which implies potential latitude in vendor selection. No incumbent vendors or specific technological integration requirements are mentioned in the provided documentation. The procurement appears to be focused on obtaining door magnets, though specific budget ranges or award values are not disclosed. The process is governed by specific Florida statutory requirements, including potential protest procedures that may require a protest bond. Vendors interested in this opportunity should carefully review the full solicitation details and be prepared to comply with the strict procedural requirements outlined in the notice, including the specific timeframes for protest and communication protocols.
