About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids on a Radar Altimeter TRA-3500/TRI-40 system with bids due October 6, 2010.
The procurement specifies a dual-antenna radar altimeter system for aircraft altitude measurement and decision-height alerting. The system operates at 4.3-GHz center frequency with altitude measurement capability from 0 to 2500 feet, incorporating visual and aural decision-height alerts, gear-warning indicators, and anti-hover circuit functionality for helicopter operations. The TRI receiver unit measures 1.375 by 3.5 by 7.5 inches and weighs 0.75 pounds; the TRA antenna unit measures 3 by 3 by 6.9 inches with antenna and weighs 3.25 pounds. Environmental operating ranges span −4°F to +131°F for the TRI unit and −40°F to +158°F for the TRA unit. The system provides altitude accuracy of 5 feet for altitudes between 0 and 100 feet, 5 percent accuracy for 100 to 500 feet, and 7 percent accuracy for 500 to 2500 feet. Additional specifications include decision-height selection in 50-foot increments up to 600 feet and 100-foot increments to 900 feet, eight fixed trip-point outputs from 100 to 800 feet, dual strut-switch inputs for display disable, LED seven-segment display with automatic dimming, and 2-times-per-second update rate. The system holds PMA certification and operates on 27.5 VDC power at 750 mA current draw.
Bids must be submitted electronically to the Division of Purchases in Augusta as separate unit prices delivered to destination, inclusive of all discounts. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value, considering quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent. All transportation charges are prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified.
