About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids for a quarterly tape order with bids due September 20, 2010.
Bids must be submitted in sealed form or electronically using prescribed forms to the Division of Purchases, Room 119, State Office Building, Augusta, Maine, prior to the closing deadline. Bidders must provide separate unit prices for each item unless otherwise specified. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities and technicalities, and award to the lowest responsible bidder or accept items individually as deemed in the State's best interest.
Bidders must specify delivery time in definite terms and any cash discounts offered; discounts of less than 20 days will not be considered in award determination. All transportation charges, including freight and express mail, are prepaid at the contractor's expense. Samples, when required, must be furnished at no charge. If grades are not specified in the inquiry, bidders should quote on the grade most commonly understood in the trade. The State is exempt from Federal taxes and Maine State Sales and Use taxes; bids should exclude these taxes.
Manufacturers, importers, suppliers, or distributors of hazardous chemicals must provide current material safety data sheets in compliance with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law. In the event of contractor default, the State reserves the right to procure materials from other sources and charge excess costs to the contractor; however, contractors are not liable for delays caused by strikes, fires, acts of God, or other causes beyond reasonable control.
Bid tabulations will be available for public inspection following contract award. A sample label barcode document is attached as a reference for labeling and barcode standards required for tape products.
