About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is seeking to procure implements and equipment for its crime laboratories, including QIAGEN's QIAsymphony and QIAgility systems, which are compatible with the agency's existing QIAGEN EZ1 extraction robots. This is a statutorily mandated single-source procurement, as the required products can only be purchased through QIAGEN, LLC. The estimated dollar amount for this contract is $1,500,000, with the term running from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. The justification for this single-source acquisition is that the QIAGEN systems and implements are the only ones validated to work with FDLE's existing equipment and procedures. FDLE currently operates 40 QIAGEN instruments in its crime laboratories statewide, and these require QIAGEN-branded supplies and implements.
As this is a single-source procurement, no competitive bidding will be conducted. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The incumbent vendor is QIAGEN, LLC, and the agency's existing QIAGEN EZ1 extraction robots require integration with the new QIAGEN systems and implements. The total award value is estimated at $1,500,000.
