About this opportunity

Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is requesting sealed bids for personal protective safety equipment on an annual contract with two optional one-year renewal periods, with bids due July 28, 2022 at 2:50 p.m. local time. The County does not offer preference programs for minority bidders and does not require bid bonds.

The scope spans seven equipment categories: hard hats, eye protection, ear protection, respiratory protection, gloves, safety vests and miscellaneous items, and chainsaw safety equipment. Estimated annual quantities vary by item, ranging from 1 unit (chainsaw safety kit) to 3,600 pairs (nitrile foam coated gloves). The procurement serves multiple county departments: Community Services, Corrections, Planning and Development, Support Services, Transportation, and Water Resources.

Overall bid totals in the prior award tabulation ranged from approximately $48,382 to $124,820 depending on the vendor selected. The initial contract term commenced August 17, 2022, with renewal option pricing subject to increases of 2.5 to 5 percent depending on the vendor, as confirmed in the bidder's submission. Delivery is F.O.B. Destination with prepaid shipping and inside delivery to various County facilities on an "as-needed" basis, not to exceed five business days for items in stock.

Bidders must submit three references demonstrating similar work experience, a Code of Ethics affidavit, and a Contractor Affidavit and Agreement if services exceed $2,499.99. Pricing must remain firm for the initial contract term. Firms on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list are ineligible. The County reserves the right to make awards to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, split awards among multiple vendors, or reject any or all bids. Questions were due by 3:00 p.m. on July 25, 2022, directed to Purchasing Associate II Chelsey Ward at chelsey.ward@gwinnettcounty.com or 770-822-7788. Award notification was posted on www.gwinnettcounty.com following the Board of Commissioners' decision.
