About this opportunity

The City of Gloucester, located in Essex County, Massachusetts, is seeking sealed bids through Invitation for Bid (IFB) #26029 for Pump Station Parts. The procurement is a comprehensive request for 82 specific pump station components, including suction plates, o-rings, gaskets, impellers, cutter bars, and various mechanical parts. The bid is being conducted pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30B and will be processed electronically through BidNet Direct, with bids due on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. The contract will span one year from the execution date, with the City reserving the right to award multiple contracts to responsive and responsible bidders offering the lowest unit prices. Bidders must provide precise pricing that matches the bid specifications, with potential rejection for non-compliance. Delivery requirements are specific, with orders to be fulfilled within two weeks and restricted to delivery windows of Monday through Thursday (8:30 AM to 2:30 PM) and Friday (8:30 AM to 12:00 PM). No substitutions will be accepted, and all parts will be ordered on an as-needed basis by the Department of Public Works.

The solicitation does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Pricing is required to remain firm for the entire contract period, and the City of Gloucester will order parts as needed throughout the contract duration. The procurement appears to be open to standard commercial vendors capable of supplying precise pump station components. While a specific budget range is not disclosed, the detailed price form with 82 line items suggests a potentially substantial procurement value. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, selecting the option deemed most advantageous to the municipality. Bidders will need to demonstrate the ability to provide exact specifications for pump station parts, maintain consistent pricing, and meet strict delivery timelines. The procurement is structured to ensure the City can maintain and repair its pump station infrastructure with high-quality, precisely specified replacement parts.
