About this opportunity
Port Huron Area School District is requesting proposals for public safety radio communication improvements at two school facilities — Port Huron Northern High School and Holland Woods Middle School — with sealed proposals due June 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a pre-bid meeting scheduled for June 3, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at Holland Woods Middle School. All project labor must be paid at prevailing wage rates, and contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity prior to bidding and throughout performance.
The scope includes site evaluation, engineered design drawings, frequency coordination with the Authority Having Jurisdiction, equipment installation, and complete post-installation testing documentation and coverage maps. Equipment specified comprises two ADRF 95 dB Gain Watt Public Safety Repeaters (one per facility), two ADRF Wall-Mount Battery Backup Units, two outdoor Public Safety 700/800 MHz Yagi Antennas, eighteen indoor omnidirectional antennas, and all necessary ancillary materials including cabling, connectors, grounding materials, and firestopping.
Each bid must include bid security of not less than 5% of the base bid in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond. Pricing proposals must separately itemize equipment and material costs, labor costs, permit costs, lift rental costs, optional alternates, and any recurring maintenance or monitoring costs. Bidders must submit sworn and notarized statements disclosing any familial relationships with school district board members or the superintendent and certifying non-Iran-linked business status. The contractor shall provide a minimum one-year workmanship warranty and manufacturer equipment warranties with identified support contact information. Sealed proposals are due at the Port Huron Area School District Administrative Offices, 2720 Riverside Drive, Port Huron, Michigan 48060, addressed to Kate LaFore, Chief Financial Officer. All proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Evaluation and award information will be announced at a later date.
