About this opportunity
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) issued a cancellation notice for competitive procurement RFP-26-118 concerning the Pope Fire Jockey Pump Replacement project in St. Johns County, Florida. The solicitation sought qualified vendors to provide fire prevention equipment, specifically centrifugal pump apparatus, pump parts, and accessories necessary for the replacement of an existing jockey pump system. The original solicitation was advertised from May 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM through May 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with responses expected by the May 8 deadline. The procurement was cancelled due to the receipt of zero responses during the solicitation period, and FSDB determined that cancellation was in the best interest of the State of Florida and the agency. Questions regarding the cancelled solicitation should have been directed to Elizabeth Nimitz, Purchasing Analyst at nimitze@fsdbk12.org, or Kim Whitwam, Director of Purchasing, at whitwamk@fsdbk12.org. The cancellation was authorized under Section 2.28 of the Solicitation Document, which reserves FSDB's right to withdraw solicitations at any time without assuming liability to any vendor.
The solicitation documents do not specify any set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise restrictions, or preferences for particular organization types in the available materials. No incumbent vendors, current contractors, or existing infrastructure requirements are identified in the cancellation notice. Similarly, no award value or budget range is disclosed in the posted information. The cancellation was executed pursuant to FSDB's reserved rights, allowing the agency to reject all replies or withdraw the solicitation at its discretion when determined to be in the best interest of the State of Florida.
