About this opportunity
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) is seeking proposals from professional forestry consultants to provide operator and equipment services for the mechanical removal of invasive species on the Grayson Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Franklin County. The selected vendor will be responsible for removing invasive plants such as autumn olive, bush honeysuckle, and multiflora rose from the WMA by the deadline of July 1, 2024. The vendor must provide monthly progress updates and attend an annual meeting with KDFWR staff. Proposals will be evaluated based on technical and cost criteria, with the cost proposal accounting for 200 of the 500 total points. The KDFWR reserves the right to negotiate a fair and reasonable compensation rate with the selected vendor and may reject any or all proposals based on the best interests of the agency. The initial contract term is from May 10, 2024, through June 30, 2024, with up to four one-year renewal options subject to approval.
The procurement process includes a preference for Kentucky resident bidders and qualified bidders as defined by state law. Bidders or offerors must also provide evidence that they are authorized to transact business in Kentucky, have filed Kentucky corporate income taxes, made payments to the Kentucky unemployment insurance fund, and maintained a Kentucky workers' compensation policy for the past year. The Commonwealth reserves the right to request documentation to support these claims, and failure to provide such documentation may result in disqualification or contract termination. The total budget for the project is not to exceed $75,000.
