About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking competitive sealed bids for printing 15,000 copies of the 2025 Florida Airport Directory through Invitation to Bid (ITB) DOT-ITB-25-9043-DG. The project requires producing a 190-page directory with specific technical specifications, including a 5.5" x 8.5" trimmed size, plasticoil binding on the 8.5-inch side, and full-color printing. The directory will feature 4/0 process colors on the front cover, 1/0 black on the back cover, and text pages printed in 1/1 black with bleeds. Deliverables must be completed within one month after purchase order receipt, with distribution split between FDOT's Traffic and Engineering Operations in Tallahassee and Lakeland Linder International Airport. Key submission deadlines include technical questions due by January 27, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST, bid responses due February 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, and a public bid opening scheduled for 11:00 AM EST the same day. The intended award decision will be posted on February 14, 2025.

Vendors must be actively registered in Florida's MyFloridaMarketplace system and will be subject to transaction fees. A notable feature of this solicitation is a 5% price preference for vendors with their principal place of business in Florida, as specified under Section 283.35, Florida Statutes. Bidders are required to complete several mandatory certifications, including Drug-Free Workplace Certification, Scrutinized Companies Lists certification, E-Verify compliance, and In-State Preference documentation. While specific budget details are not explicitly stated, previous orders for similar work were valued at just under $50,000. The procurement is governed by strict communication restrictions outlined in section 287.057(23), Florida Statutes, which prohibits bidders from contacting executive or legislative branch employees about the solicitation during a specified period. Vendors must also agree to comply with the state's Inspector General requirements as outlined in s.20.055(5), Florida Statutes, and incorporate these compliance obligations in any subcontracts.
