About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Two, is soliciting sealed bids for preventative maintenance services of mobile equipment above 1 ton for the Perry Maintenance Yard, located in Sumter County. The procurement seeks a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive maintenance services for a range of mobile equipment including dump trucks, trailers, backhoes, chippers, tractors, forklifts, loaders, motor graders, and skid steer loaders. The contract will have an initial term of 36 months, commencing upon execution, with potential renewal options. Bidders must submit pricing for three types of preventative maintenance services (Type A, B, and C) across different vehicle categories, with detailed specifications for maintenance procedures, fluid and filter requirements, and performance standards. Technical questions are due by April 21, 2025, and sealed bids must be submitted electronically by April 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a public bid opening at 2:30 PM at the FDOT District Two Procurement Office in Lake City, Florida. Liquidated damages of $100 per day will be assessed for late service completion.

The solicitation includes provisions for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation and requires compliance with various federal and state non-discrimination statutes, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The contract mandates a drug-free workplace and adherence to multiple civil rights and accessibility regulations, ensuring equal opportunity for participation. Funding for the contract is subject to annual legislative appropriation, and the Department does not guarantee a specific quantity of services to be performed. Bidders must comply with Section 20.055(5) of Florida Statutes and incorporate this compliance requirement in all subcontracts. While a specific contract value is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the maintenance services and the three-year contract term suggest a potentially significant procurement opportunity for qualified maintenance service providers specializing in mobile equipment maintenance.
