About this opportunity

Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners Purchasing Department issued Request for Pre-Qualification (RPQ #17-067/KP) on July 28, 2017, seeking to establish a pre-qualified vendor list for the supply of various lumber products on a term contract basis. The solicitation encompasses 23 different lumber product categories, including various grades and treatments of plywood, hardwoods, pressure-treated lumber for different environments, and specialty wood products. Pre-qualification responses were required to be submitted in sealed packages to the Purchasing Department by August 24, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. Once vendors are pre-qualified, they will receive individual project quotes on an as-needed basis with a mandatory five-business-day response requirement per project. Vendors must provide three business references demonstrating similar work within the past three years and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including execution of a non-discrimination policy consistent with Palm Beach County Resolution R-2014-1421. Individual project pricing will be evaluated based on the lowest fixed price submitted, with all unit prices inclusive of handling, delivery, and unloading charges with F.O.B. point set at destination.

Small Business Enterprise (SBE) preferences apply to this procurement, with certified SBE vendors within 10 percent of the lowest bid eligible to receive consideration for award. A 5 percent local preference discount is available for vendors with a permanent place of business in Palm Beach County or the Glades. The term contract will run for 60 months or until estimated funding is expended, with Palm Beach County reserving the right to add qualified vendors at any time during the contract period. Individual projects may not exceed $99,999 unless subject to formal competitive sealed bid procedures at the mandatory bid amount of $100,000. The anticipated contract value over the 60-month period is $650,000, though Palm Beach County reserves the right to increase or decrease this amount based on actual requirements.
