About this opportunity
The City of Detroit Office of Contracting and Procurement on behalf of the Construction and Demolition Department is soliciting quotes from pre-qualified demolition contractors for driveway removal at 160 E Longwood and 170 E Longwood, with quotes due October 13, 2026. Respondents must be pre-qualified through the City of Detroit Demolition Program.
The scope includes complete removal of two driveways and miscellaneous concrete materials at the two residential properties, proper disposal of all safely accessible materials in compliance with applicable laws and industry best practices, and uniform site grading to conform to adjoining sidewalks, alleys, and properties while preventing excessive water runoff and pooling. The contractor must comply with all directives from the Building, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department or other City agencies and ensure graded surfaces permit access by standard construction equipment. Work is performed in support of the City of Detroit Solar Initiative.
Respondents must bid on all properties within the group to be considered for award and submit quotes through the City's Oracle Supplier Portal. Submission requirements include a completed Price Sheet in .XLSX format, a Professional Rate sheet in .XLSX format, and any other documentation required by the City. All pricing must be provided as lump-sum bids inclusive of administrative costs, operational costs including mobilization and transportation, overhead, and profit. Sidewalk replacement damaged during work is the contractor's responsibility. Contractors are not responsible for permit costs and should not include such costs in their bids. Subcontracting requires prior written City approval, with a list of all proposed subcontractors including name, address, contact information, and any equalization certifications from the Department of Civil Rights, Inclusion and Opportunity.
Successful vendors must provide 100% payment bonds and 100% performance bonds within five business days of award notice, along with Certificates of Insurance naming the City of Detroit and Detroit Land Bank Authority as additional insureds. Quotes remain binding for 120 calendar days after the deadline. Payment will be processed under the City of Detroit Prompt Payment Ordinance at Net 30 terms. The City reserves the right to award all groups or line items to one vendor, distribute awards among multiple vendors, or award individual groups to different vendors based on lowest responsive and responsible bid with consideration to local preferences.
