About this opportunity
Harford County is seeking a qualified and licensed contractor for a pier re-decking project at the City Yacht Basin through a Request for Proposal (RFP) with State Local Contract Opportunity ID 6787c679d89a38a1810ab97a. The project specifically requires comprehensive decking replacement on Pier #3, the main pier, and associated finger piers, which involves complete removal and disposal of existing decking, full replacement, and necessary component reinstallation. Contractors must furnish all required materials, labor, supervision, transportation, permits, licenses, equipment, and incidentals to complete the construction services. The procurement is being conducted with grant funds from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Waterway Improvement Fund, with proposals due by February 7, 2025, following the initial posting on January 10, 2025. Prospective bidders must demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in marine construction, pier restoration, and have appropriate licensing and professional credentials to successfully execute the project's technical requirements.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the project appears to be open to qualified contractors with marine construction expertise. The project will be funded through state grant mechanisms, which may potentially create opportunities for local or small business participation. No incumbent vendor information was provided in the original contract notice. The total project budget and specific award value were not specified, though the scope suggests a substantial marine infrastructure renovation project. Interested contractors will need to carefully review the full RFP documentation to understand complete qualification requirements, submission protocols, and potential integration expectations for the pier reconstruction effort. Contractors should be prepared to demonstrate technical proficiency in marine construction, decking replacement, and compliance with Maryland Department of Natural Resources standards and grant requirements.
