About this opportunity

The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting bids for Photoionization Detector (PID) kits with bids due March 14, 2008. Acceptable products are limited to the Mini Rae 3000 or Ion Science Pho Check PIDs — a single-source specification that establishes the capability filter.

Each kit must include a 10.6 eV lamp, rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack with universal wall adaptor and alkaline battery adaptor, hard-sided transport case with pre-cut foam padding, calibration kit with calibration gas and regulator, Flex I probe, basic tool kit, three sets of replacement filters, and operation and maintenance manual.

In cases of tie bids, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured products or services. Bidders must submit separate unit prices on prescribed forms or electronic mediums and deliver sealed bids or electronic responses to the Division of Purchases at 9 State House Station, Room 119, Augusta, Maine by the closing date and time. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids, accept items individually or as a group based on best value, and award to the lowest responsible bidder after considering quality, conformity with specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. Pricing must exclude federal and Maine state sales and use taxes. Cash discounts computed from delivery date or invoice receipt (whichever is later) will be considered only if the discount period exceeds 20 days. Transportation charges, including freight and express costs, are the contractor's responsibility unless otherwise specified. The State reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent. All deliveries must comply with federal, state, and local laws, and contractors must provide current material safety data sheets for any hazardous chemicals per Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law.
