About this opportunity
SUNY Upstate Medical University has initiated a sole-source procurement for Philips Healthcare to provide service support for an EPIQ CVx Cardiac Ultrasound Machine through an amendment to an existing contract. The procurement covers service support for ultrasound machinery, specifically expanding an current contract to include additional equipment. The contract was granted an exemption from standard advertising requirements by the Office of the State Comptroller, indicating a specialized procurement process. The contract will cover all New York State counties, with the primary location being SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, located at 750 East Adams Street. The procurement is specifically for technical service support, with the contract term set for five years, running from the posting date of June 10, 2025, with a response deadline of June 17, 2025.
This procurement appears to be a direct award to Philips Healthcare without competitive bidding, due to its sole-source designation. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises were mentioned in the documentation. The contract is limited to Philips Healthcare as the sole provider, suggesting no opportunity for alternative vendors. While specific budget ranges were not disclosed, the procurement is for ongoing service support for existing ultrasound machinery. The scope is limited to Onondaga County and applicable across New York State, with the primary focus on maintaining and supporting the EPIQ CVx Cardiac Ultrasound Machine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. The procurement represents a targeted, specialized technical service agreement with a single, pre-approved vendor.
