About this opportunity
Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking proposals for twice-annual pharmacy inventory services with proposals due September 22, 2026.
The scope requires an external provider to conduct comprehensive physical counts and analysis of medication inventory to support pharmaceutical-cost-management and drug-usage tracking. The vendor must deploy an 8–10 person team including a defined supervisor/team leader; all team members must pass background checks and drug testing prior to engagement. Team rosters must be provided to the hospital up to two weeks before the on-site visit. Team members will be identified by uniform and photo ID badge.
On-site performance is heavily time-constrained: the vendor must accommodate scheduling with no more than three weeks' lead time, begin the physical count by 7:45 a.m. on the scheduled day, complete the count within 3–5 hours from start time, and finish all work within a single business day. The vendor must review preliminary findings with Hospital Pharmacy Leadership before departing the site and deliver a final report within 48 hours of the visit. The preliminary report must be available on-site for review and adjustment by pharmacy leadership before the team leaves.
Required capabilities include demonstrated competence in pharmacy inventory services, high-level on-site organization, and ability to manage data analysis across medication value, distribution, and inventory turnover rates. The source does not specify estimated contract value, contract term beyond the twice-annual frequency, or evaluation criteria weighting. No pre-bid meeting or questions-due date is identified in the source.
