About this opportunity
Rockdale County, Georgia is requesting proposals for pest control services at county facilities under an RFP due September 3, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., with a mandatory pre-proposal conference on August 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rockdale County Administration Building. A local-vendor preference policy provides an extra five points on evaluation criteria for qualified local bidders.
The scope covers insect and rodent control (roaches, ants, silverfish, rats, mice) with treatment of occasional invaders (fleas, spiders, seasonal pests) at multiple county buildings. All facilities receive monthly treatment unless otherwise specified; kitchen areas in the Sheriff's Department/Jail and Senior Services Center require weekly service. The contractor must provide inspections, recurring service-call work, rodent removal, and all supplies, materials, equipment, labor, and technical expertise necessary to perform the work.
The contract term is twelve months from Notice-to-Proceed, with options to renew for two additional twelve-month periods under the same prices, terms, and conditions. Pricing is fixed through the contract term. The county reserves the right to increase or decrease facility listings or services during the term and will not be obligated to quantities beyond actual needs.
Contractors must hold a current Georgia pest control license, maintain insurance coverage (workers' compensation, general liability, environmental liability with minimum policy limits of $1 million), submit three project references with similar experience, and comply with the Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act of 2011 via notarized E-Verify affidavits. All chemicals must be documented with Material Safety Data Sheets.
Evaluation criteria are staffing and availability (35%), experience and performance (35%), approach (15%), and cost (15%), with interviews potentially scheduled. Written questions are due August 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Proposals must include one hard copy and one USB flash drive of the technical proposal in Adobe PDF format, with the price proposal in a separate sealed envelope.
