About this opportunity
The Texas A&M University System ("A&M System") is seeking qualified entities to develop a portfolio of quick-start, dispatchable peaking power generation facilities ("Plants") on A&M System-owned lands. The goal is to ensure a more reliable and stabilized power grid in the vicinity of A&M System's critical facilities and infrastructure, as well as the broader Texas power grid. The selected Developers will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the Plants, including feasibility studies, grid interconnection, construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning. Developers must meet specific financial and technical requirements outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP), and have the option to seek funding through the Texas Energy Fund In-ERCOT Generation Loan Program or other state funding sources. A pre-proposal conference will be held on June 17, 2024, and proposals are due by July 1, 2024, with a selection of Respondent(s) expected by July 8, 2024.
The RFP does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. However, it does require Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) participation and outlines insurance requirements. The RFP does not mention any incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor does it provide any information on existing infrastructure or technology integration. The RFP does not disclose the potential award values or budget ranges for this procurement.
