About this opportunity
Palm Beach County Facilities Development & Operations Department is requesting quotes and bids for repair, restoration, and repainting of a fuel island canopy at the PBSO West Boynton Substation under an Annual Contract for Painting & Weatherproofing, with quotes and bids due September 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on August 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Contractor qualification under Palm Beach County's Annual Contract is a prerequisite for bid consideration, with qualification applications due at least 10 days before the bid due date. SBE price preference applies — certified SBE bids within 10 percent of the lowest non-SBE bid are eligible for award.
The scope includes cleaning, leak repairs, corrosion treatment, surface preparation, sealing, and painting of the existing canopy at 7894 S Jog Road, Lake Worth, Florida, using specified Sherwin-Williams coating products (Macropoxy 920 Pre-Primer, Macropoxy 646 Fast Cure Epoxy, Acrolon 218 HS Acrylic Polyurethane, and Silicone 22 Low Solid Rubberized Silicone Roof Coating). The contractor must achieve substantial completion within 120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with work limited to 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Liquidated damages are $120 per day for failure to meet the completion deadline.
Bids of $200,000 or more require bid security equal to at least 5 percent of the bid price (cashier's check, certified check, money order, or bid bond). The successful bidder must furnish a public construction bond equal to 100 percent of the work order amount within 14 calendar days of award notification. A 12-month warranty on all equipment, materials, and labor from substantial completion is required. All bidders must submit SBD program schedules documenting subcontractor participation and SBE commitments and execute a Human Trafficking Affidavit as a condition of bidding. Sealed bids will be publicly opened at Palm Beach County Facilities Development and Operations Department, 2633 Vista Parkway, West Palm Beach, Florida, at 2:00 p.m. on September 10, 2026.
