About this opportunity

SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking to procure Patient Monitors and Related Products through a Vizient contract, leveraging section 163 (3) (vi) of state procurement guidelines to purchase commodities from a consortium without a formal competitive process. The procurement is specifically focused on medical monitoring equipment for the hospital, with potential vendors required to contact Richard Frenger to discuss product specifications and procurement details. The contract opportunity is posted as of August 14, 2025, with proposals due by September 5, 2025, and covers Suffolk County and Swan Lake CDP jurisdictions in New York State. Vendors are required to comply with NYS Finance Law 139 j&k (Lobbying Law), which restricts communication about the procurement to the designated contact person. To participate, vendors must file a Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire through the New York State VendRep System, providing their New York State Vendor Identification Number and completing all necessary documentation.

The procurement does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Vendors must be prepared to demonstrate compliance with state procurement regulations and provide comprehensive documentation of their qualifications. The solicitation is subject to strict communication protocols, with potential penalties ranging from contract disqualification to debarment from sales to New York State agencies. While specific award values are not detailed, the procurement suggests a substantial medical equipment purchase through the Vizient contract consortium. Potential vendors should carefully review the Consortia Purchasing Guidelines available at the provided link and be prepared to provide comprehensive product information, pricing details, and compliance documentation. Interested vendors are advised to contact the procurement point of contact, Richard Frenger, to discuss specific requirements and potential participation in the procurement process.
