About this opportunity

Sarasota County is pursuing a sole source procurement (Solicitation 2024-ISS-359) for parts and maintenance services for inline Ultraviolet Disinfection Systems at the Beach Road Stormwater Treatment Facility. The procurement specifically targets inspection, repair, and maintenance services, with all necessary parts to be provided by Aquionics Inc. The county is seeking comprehensive support for its UV disinfection infrastructure, with a specific focus on genuine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts for Hanovia, Berson, Aquionics, and Nuvonic Ultraviolet systems. Key submission requirements include electronic responses through https://secure.procurenow.com/portal/scgov, with a response deadline of December 18, 2024, at 5:00 pm. Vendors are encouraged to submit an Intent to Sole Source Response form if they believe they can meet the county's requirements, and the procurement allows for potential conversion to a competitive solicitation if other vendors can demonstrate equivalent product or service capabilities. The solicitation deadline for questions is December 17, 2024, and vendors must comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as meet specific insurance requirements.

The procurement appears to be unrestricted in terms of set-aside designations, with Aquionics Inc. positioned as the incumbent and sole source provider based on their certification as the exclusive OEM distributor and service provider in North America. Aquionics is currently the only identified vendor capable of providing the specific UV disinfection system parts and maintenance services for the Beach Road Stormwater Treatment Facility. While no specific contract value or budget range is explicitly stated in the documents, the procurement suggests a renewal of an existing contract for critical infrastructure maintenance. The technology involves inline Ultraviolet Disinfection Systems, with Aquionics holding distribution rights for multiple brands including Hanovia, Berson, Aquionics, and Nuvonic. The procurement includes provisions for potential alternative vendors to demonstrate equivalent capabilities, leaving open the possibility of future competitive solicitations. Contact information for further inquiries is provided through Aquionics representatives Gary Jeral and Anne Fiske, who can provide additional details about the procurement.
