About this opportunity
Sarasota County is pursuing a sole source procurement with Aquionics Inc. for parts and maintenance services of an Inline Ultraviolet Disinfection System located at the Beach Road Stormwater Treatment Facility. The procurement specifically covers inspection, repair, and maintenance services for a one-year period from February 2, 2024 to February 1, 2025, focusing on the InLine 7500+ UV system. Key deliverables include an annual system inspection, replacement of worn-out parts, and maintenance of twelve B352H UV lamps designed to reduce bacteria in stormwater discharged to the Gulf of Mexico. The solicitation was released on December 4, 2023, with a deadline for questions on December 15, 2023, and a final response deadline of December 18, 2023, at 5:00 pm. Responses must be submitted electronically through the ProcureNow portal, with the county reserving the right to cancel the sole source procurement and pursue a competitive solicitation if other vendors can demonstrate equivalent capabilities.
The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. Aquionics Inc. is positioned as the sole Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supplier of Berson and Hanovia parts and service in Florida, with an estimated expenditure of $20,000 per fiscal year. The county has authorized expenditures up to $50,000 for this procurement. The vendor, part of the Halma Group, emphasizes that using unauthorized parts would void all system and performance warranties. Vendors believing they can provide equivalent goods or services are invited to complete an Intent to Sole Source Response form. Key compliance requirements include participation in E-Verify, adherence to public records laws, and certifications regarding scrutinized companies and convicted vendor lists. The procurement is subject to the availability of lawfully budgeted and appropriated funds, with the county maintaining the right to terminate the purchase order at any time with written notice.
