About this opportunity

Park County Department of Heritage & Tourism in Colorado is requesting proposals for site work and west wing rehabilitation at the Paris Mill, a historic 1895 mining structure located three miles west of Alma, with proposals due August 14, 2026 and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on August 6 at 2:00 p.m. A site visit is required to bid.

The scope encompasses driveway rehabilitation (entrance and north driveway grading with road-base application), main entrance rehabilitation (exterior stairs construction using railroad ties or equivalent materials), west wing floor rehabilitation (compactible road-base application to approximately 1,200 square feet of dirt flooring and stable base for hanging equipment), and construction of eight moveable, heavy-duty wood benches approximately eight feet long. The mill's extensive machinery, engineered systems, structural elements, and architectural aspects make it one of the few intact mills remaining from its era in Colorado and a priority preservation project for the community.

Contractors must be licensed in Colorado and demonstrate ability to meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. Proposals must include a project timeline, cost estimate with payment schedule, list of proposed subcontractors if applicable, and references from previous clients for similar projects. All work must be completed by December 31, 2026. The project is subject to funding availability.

Questions and site visit scheduling should be directed to Kate McCoy at kate.mccoy@parkcountyco.gov or 719-836-4237. No contract value, incumbent, or set-aside program is identified in the solicitation materials.
