About this opportunity
Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, Department of Environmental Resources Management, is requesting sealed bids for construction of a fixed dock and repair of the seawall cap at Old Bridge Park in Lake Worth Lagoon, with bids due August 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. local time. The project is funded in part by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Florida Inland Navigation District grant funds, which renders Palm Beach County's Local Preference, Glades Local Preference, Apprentice Incentive, Glades Resident Incentive, and Small Business Enterprise ordinances inapplicable to this solicitation. Davis Bacon wage rates and DBE participation goals do not apply.
The scope encompasses construction of a fixed dock and seawall cap repair at Old Bridge Park, 9 Ocean Boulevard, Lake Worth Beach, with all necessary support equipment, personnel, supplies, and materials. Detailed technical specifications, structural requirements, mechanical and electrical components, landscaping, and site development details are provided in the attached construction plans and technical specifications documents.
Award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder on a single-contract basis. The successful contractor must substantially complete all work within 180 calendar days from notice to proceed, with final completion within 30 days after delivery of the owner's punch list. Bidders must submit a sealed bid with a bid bond equal to five percent of the bid price and, upon notice of intent to award, furnish a public construction bond in the amount of 100% of the total contract price within fourteen days.
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., offered both virtually and in person at the Department of Environmental Resources Management, Vista Center, 2300 Jog Road, 4th Floor, West Palm Beach, Florida 33411. A non-mandatory site visit will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Old Bridge Park; prospective bidders must notify ERM of their intent to attend the site visit by August 7, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. All bidders and subcontractors must be properly certified and licensed in the State of Florida at the time of bid submission. Contract documents are available for download at no cost from the County's Vendor Self-Service website beginning July 28, 2026.
