About this opportunity

Gwinnett County Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting written quotes for preventative maintenance and repair of basketball goals and gym curtains at six county facilities on an annual contract, with quotes due June 15, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.

The scope covers semi-annual inspections (March and October), preventative maintenance including hardware tightening, lubrication, and safety inspections, and on-demand repair services. The contractor must respond to emergency calls within two hours and complete all repairs within 48 hours. Facilities include Best Friend Park Gym, Bogan Community Center Gym, George Pierce Park, Lenora Park Gym, Lucky Shoals Park Gym, and Rhodes Jordan Park Gym.

Compensation is structured in two sections: Section A provides semi-annual inspection and preventative maintenance pricing per location with separate line items for goals and curtains at each facility; Section B covers time-and-material repair rates with distinct hourly labor rates for regular business hours and emergency/after-hours work, a trip charge not to exceed one per service request, and parts markup not exceeding 10% above cost. All parts and labor carry a minimum one-year warranty.

The contractor must maintain commercial general liability insurance with $2 million general aggregate and $1 million per occurrence limits, with Gwinnett County named as additional insured, and hold an A.M. Best rating of A-7 or higher. The contractor must comply with Georgia's Illegal Immigration Reform requirements including E-Verify participation and provide a minimum of three references demonstrating basketball goal and gym curtain repair experience within the past five years. The contractor is responsible for proper removal and disposal of old parts per EPA regulations and cleanup of all debris.

The county reserves discretion to split awards or award quotes in their entirety to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Questions are due June 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., directed to Casey Beauston, Purchasing Associate III, at casey.beauston@gwinnettcounty.com or to the Gwinnett County Financial Services Purchasing Division, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046.
