About this opportunity
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is seeking a contractor for the P2540002 - Kern River Planting Base Pump and Well Maintenance project, located in Kern County's Kernville CDP. This procurement opportunity involves comprehensive maintenance services for a domestic water system and well infrastructure, requiring quarterly inspections, urgent repairs, and ongoing servicing of critical water equipment. The specific scope includes maintaining a domestic water room with a 3 HP motor and pump, a 115-gallon pressurization tank, and associated electrical and plumbing systems, as well as inspecting and maintaining four additional wells equipped with 1-5 HP pumps. The contract aims to ensure all water system equipment functions properly and safely through regular maintenance and timely repairs. The solicitation was posted on April 23, 2025, with proposals due by May 27, 2025. Potential bidders must carefully review the attached documents: P2540002_Complete_Sample_Agreement.pdf, P2540002_Bidders_Documents.pdf, and P2540002_Instructions_to_Bidders.pdf, which provide comprehensive details about submission requirements, technical specifications, and evaluation criteria.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, contractors will need specialized expertise in water system maintenance and repair. The contract appears to be open to qualified vendors with demonstrated experience in managing complex water infrastructure systems. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and the project seems to focus on maintaining existing infrastructure without significant technological integration. The procurement involves maintenance of water systems at the Kern River Planting Base, suggesting a relatively localized and specialized service requirement. Although a precise budget range is not specified in the available documents, the complexity of maintaining multiple pumps, electrical systems, and plumbing infrastructure suggests a moderate-value contract. Interested contractors should possess technical qualifications in water system maintenance, electrical work, and pump servicing, with a strong emphasis on ensuring safe and efficient operation of the water infrastructure.
