About this opportunity

The Town of Stratford, Connecticut, through its Shellfish Commission, is seeking competitive bids for an oyster shell relocation and planting project within the Housatonic River. The primary objective is to relocate approximately 50,000 bushels of existing oyster shell from Zone 1 (the mouth of the river) to Zones 2 and 3 using a suction dredge boat. If the full quantity cannot be moved via the suction boat method, the contractor will be required to supply and plant additional wet shell material in the designated zones. Qualified contractors must demonstrate prior experience in furnishing and deploying oyster shell material and provide all necessary labor, equipment, and resources for the project. The bid solicitation was posted on May 31, 2022, with a closing date of June 14, 2022, and included a vendor question and answer period from May 31 to June 2, 2022. The contract will be awarded to a qualified contractor capable of meeting the specific technical requirements, including the use of a suction dredge boat and expertise in oyster shell deployment.

The solicitation does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond to the bid. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are explicitly mentioned in the documentation. The procurement does not indicate any specific budget range or total contract value, and there are no references to disadvantaged enterprise provisions or integration requirements with existing infrastructure or technology. Payment terms are set at Net 30 Days, and the opportunity is open to all vendors who can meet the technical specifications. The project is located within Fairfield County, Connecticut, and the contact person for inquiries is Philip Ryan from the Town of Stratford. The solicitation includes multiple supporting documents, specifically the main bid document and two addenda, but does not provide a detailed pricing structure or line-item breakdown.
