About this opportunity
The St. Johns River Water Management District (the District) is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Orange Creek SJ29 - Pine Plantation to Upland Sandhill Groundcover Restoration and Habitat Enhancement project located in Polk County, Florida. The District is seeking bids from firms licensed in the state of Florida to provide herbicide work and seeding on a not-to-exceed 25-acre area. The overall goal is to improve habitat value for wetland buffers and the groundcover vegetation as part of a sandhill pine restoration. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for June 13, 2024, and bids are due by 2:00 p.m. on June 17, 2024. The work is to be completed by September 30, 2025. Respondents must meet minimum qualifications, including being licensed in Florida, having experience with similar herbicide and seeding projects, and providing a field supervisor with a valid pesticide applicator's license. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and may award the agreement to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The estimated budget for the work is $99,188, which is an estimate only and does not limit the District's ability to award the agreement. The District may accept alternatives that are deemed in its best interest.
The IFB does not mention any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. There is no information provided about any incumbent vendors or current contractors, or any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The $99,188 estimated budget is the only available information regarding the possible award value or budget range.
