About this opportunity

The Kenton County Airport Board is requesting proposals for on-call painting services at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) in Hebron, Kentucky under ITB #26-040, with proposals due July 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time and a Kentucky resident bidder preference applied in accordance with state law.

The scope encompasses interior and exterior painting on garage stalls, storage tanks, office areas, public and private spaces, platforms, mezzanines, and light poles within KCAB-owned or leased buildings. The contractor must respond to scheduled work within 14 days of initial contact and maintain labor and equipment availability 24 hours daily, seven days weekly, including holidays. Pricing is submitted as firm fixed hourly rates for five line items: interior work during normal hours (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), interior work outside normal hours, exterior work during normal hours, exterior work outside normal hours, and a percentage markup for paint, materials, and equipment supplied by the contractor. All pricing must be all-inclusive and delivered FOB to CVG. The contractor must have prior experience providing commercial painting services to government agencies, municipalities, or similarly sized companies and maintain badges for sufficient employees at $44.00 per badge, with penalties for lost or unreturned badges.

The contract term runs October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2029, with an option to renew for two additional one-year terms. KCAB reserves discretion to adjust pricing annually after year three based on the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metropolitan area Consumer Price Index, capped at 3 percent of the current annual contract price. The contractor must maintain commercial general liability insurance of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence (or $10,000,000 if performing work on aircraft ramps, taxiways, or runways), automobile liability insurance of at least $2,000,000 per accident, and Kentucky workers' compensation insurance, naming KCAB as an additional insured. Questions are due June 22, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., with answers posted by June 25, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Invoices are paid on a net 30 basis. Award will be made to the responsible bidder offering the best value.
