About this opportunity

The City of Stockton Public Works Department is requesting proposals for on-call fence repair, replacement, and installation services at City facilities and parks citywide under Project No. OM-25-088, with proposals due May 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A local preference of 5 points (out of 100 total) applies to vendors with a physical business location within Stockton city boundaries, with an additional 2-point preference for San Joaquin County locations.

Scope covers repair, replacement, and installation of steel, wrought iron, and chain link fences and gates across City-owned buildings, grounds, parks, and leased properties. The awardee must supply all labor, materials, parts, equipment, and disposal services in compliance with applicable codes and industry standards. Contractors must hold a valid California Class C13 (Fencing) contractor's license, maintain current registration with California's Department of Industrial Relations per Senate Bill 854, and obtain a City of Stockton Business License. Prevailing wage compliance and specified insurance coverage are mandatory. Unit costs must be submitted in a separate compensation schedule; all expenses for traffic control, materials, equipment, demolition, removal, disposal, recycling documentation, and encroachment permits are included in unit pricing at no additional cost to the City.

The City will award a three-year service contract with two optional one-year extensions based on best overall value. Evaluation allocates 100 points across Scope of Service/Deliverables (30 points), Cost (25 points), License and Experience (25 points), Equipment (15 points), and Local Preference (5 points). Interviews are scheduled for a date to be determined, with negotiations and final scope in July 2026 and City Council approval anticipated in August 2026.
