About this opportunity

SUNY Upstate Medical University intends to procure Olympus America Inc. Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Related Products through a contract awarded by Premier under section 163 (3) (vi), which allows purchasing from a consortium without a formal competitive process. The procurement specifically seeks gastrointestinal endoscopy equipment and related products, with an emphasis on clinical performance equivalency. Vendors interested in providing alternative products must demonstrate equivalent clinical performance and provide free supporting clinical documentation, equipment for examination, demonstration, and trial. The contract requires vendors to be authorized to sell Olympus America Inc. Gastrointestinal Endoscopy products or an approved equivalent. The procurement is subject to NYS Finance Law 139 j&k (Lobbying Law), which strictly limits communication to the designated contact, Honey-Beth Nelson. The contract term runs from February 1, 2025, to the expiration of Premier Contract PP-OR-2508, with a proposal due date of May 28, 2025. Vendors must be prepared to submit valid and current NYS Workman's Compensation and Disability Forms.

The procurement does not include a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside, indicating open competition for all qualified vendors. The opportunity is specifically located in Onondaga County, New York, and applies to SUNY Upstate Medical University's Hospital Purchasing Department. Vendors must be cautious about communication, as contact with unauthorized individuals could result in contract disqualification or potential debarment from sales to NYS agencies. While no specific budget range is provided, the procurement suggests a focus on medical equipment procurement through an existing consortium contract. The opportunity allows for alternative vendors to propose equivalent products, provided they can meet the stringent clinical performance standards of the Olympus America Inc. Gastrointestinal Endoscopy products. Successful contractors will need to demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge, clinical equivalency, and compliance with state regulatory requirements.
