About this opportunity
The Commonwealth of Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet is requesting bids on Old Hickory furniture for two state parks (John James Audubon and Natural Bridge State Resort Park) under RFB 758 2600000690-1, with bids due July 22, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. ET. Qualified bidders — Kentucky Correctional Industries and Kentucky Industries for the Blind — receive preference points of 20 percent and 15 percent of maximum points respectively. Kentucky resident bidders receive reciprocal preference against nonresident bidders from states with similar preferences.
The scope comprises 11 line items: 20 John Muir chairs, 5 pedestal dining tables, and 5 king headboards for John James Audubon State Park; 16 John Muir chairs, 2 pedestal dining tables, 1 double pedestal dining table, 8 queen headboards, 10 tall nightstands, 4 three-drawer bachelor's chests, 2 four-drawer dressers, and 6 classic hickory frame mirrors for Natural Bridge State Resort Park. All items are custom-made Old Hickory furniture (NIGP commodity code 42030), with approved equal substitutes permitted. Delivery is included in pricing and must be completed within 30 working days after order receipt; vendors delivering sooner receive additional points up to a maximum of 5.
This is a one-time award contract with no renewal options. Pricing must exclude federal excise taxes and Kentucky sales or use taxes and remain firm for the contract period, though discount percentages may adjust with market fluctuations.
Award will be determined using best value ranking: 95 points for price (lowest-priced bidder receives maximum points; others scored proportionally) and 5 points for delivery performance. Vendors must maintain Commercial General Liability Insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, and automobile liability insurance of $1,000,000 combined single limit if providing delivery. Prior to award, vendors must submit Revenue Form 10A100, certificates of authority if foreign entities, and a notarized affidavit certifying compliance with Kentucky campaign finance laws under KRS 45A.110 and 45A.115.
Questions are due July 10, 2026 by 1:30 p.m. ET, with Commonwealth responses by July 14. All bids must be submitted electronically through the Kentucky eProcurement system after registering in the Vendor Self Service System at least 24–48 hours prior to submission. Contact Angie Johnson at 502-564-6194 for additional information.
